Avril Deegan

 

Avril works as a clinical assistant at the EPT Clinic on Thursdays and Fridays, carrying out general administration work.

Avril is going into her final year in DCU studying a BSc (Honours) in psychology. Avril completed her work experience at the EPT clinic and is now one of our newest members of staff. Once graduated Avril hopes to pursue her studies further in the area of child and educational psychology.

As part of her degree Avril has volunteered at the Aisling Project in Ballymun, an after-school intervention for children and young people in need of support and has also volunteered at children’s summer camps.

Avril is a keen and accomplished athlete, currently on a sports scholarship at DCU having represented Ireland on several occasions. She has numerous county, provincial, national and international medals to her name. Avril’s running career has given her the opportunity to travel to many European countries and as far as Bahrain for training camps and competitions.

In light of the COVID 19 crisis, the EPT Team continue to closely monitor and follow public health guidance in relation to this unprecedented public health emergency. The Government of Ireland have listed Disability and Mental Health Services on their list of Essential Services which are exempt from the Stay at Home advice. As a result, we are trying our best to continue to support families while adhering to physical distancing measures.
