Padraig Danaher began his healthcare journey with a BA in Social Care Munster Technological University and Commencing his studies 2011. Padraig began his professional career as a Social Care Worker in residential homes, working both for private organisations and for Tusla Child and Family Agency, caring for children from birth into young adulthood. Padraig has worked in a parenting assessment capacity in Bessborough Centre as a Family Support Worker with a strong focus on infant mental health and promoting practical parenting skills. Padraig competed volunteered in a variety of setting such as Support After Crime, supporting people affected by crime, whether you are a victim of crime or a witness to crime. He also volunteered in the big brother program with Foroige enhancing his skill base using a trauma informed lens.
Padraig continued his academic journey in Occupational Therapy graduating 2019 a BSc Occupational Therapy in University College of Cork, all while working full time as a social care working and becoming a father in 2017. Through applying his acquired skill set as an Occupational Therapist within Social care Padraig could see a real need for a more strengths and value-based approach in this field and sought to pursue this a with a Masters in Positive & Coaching Psychology in University College of Cork, graduating in 2020.
Since 2021 Padraig has run his own private practice, The OT Coach, where he offers therapeutic interventions and assessments for young people and adults whom may have experienced adversity in their lives. Padraig has been recognised for his work in the community and has joined a high potential start up IGNITE programme in University College of Cork for his innovate deliver of service and concepts.
Joining the EPT Clinic in 2022 as an Occupational Therapist & Coach, Padraig brings his diverse experience and will specialise in Trauma, Sensory-Attachment and Nervous System Profiling (SANS-P) which details children’s sensory – attachment and autonomic regulation needs.
