What is a neurodevelopmental assessment?
A neurodevelopmental assessment identifies your child’s strengths and needs, and your child’s neurotype, whether it is neurotypical, dyslexic, dyspraxic, autistic, ADHD or a combination of these neurotypes. It involves comprehensive clinical observations and standardised tests with the EPT Team. All assessments are accepted by the HSE, the Department of Education and Science and other agencies.
What areas of development are assessed?
- Thinking and learning skills.
- Academics or preschool/school readiness.
- Indepencence and adaptive skills.
- Social, language and communication skills.
- Emotional and behavioural regulation needs.
- Sensory needs.
- Fine and gross motor skills.
- Mental health, including mood and anxiety needs.
Do I need an Assessment Straight Away?
What help is available for families?
Are you wondering about autism, ADHD, sensory processing, learning or communication? Do you want support?
Parents are often really disappointed when they cannot get access to an assessment straight away, because professionals or other people have told them that they need to have an assessment to get help for their child BUT... this is simply not true.Â
Parents usually KNOW what their child needs help with - emotional regulation, anxiety, concentration, completing tasks... Parents can come to our team and tell them what they want for their child or young people, and then families can access supports straight away on one of our therapeutic programmes, parent courses, or individually through child therapies, parent support sessions and more.Â
What can I do while I wait?
Get started with our team straight away! Access multi-disciplinary support through our Membership, 5 Hour Workshop or 10 Week Emotional Regulation Programme.Â

We had our 7 yr old son up for a neurodevelopmental assessment. Both myself and my son felt very comfortable and the staff were exceptionally nice and helpful with any questions or comforts needed for my son. I would say our experience was exceptional.
