EPT CLINIC ARE EXCITED TO LAUNCH OUR SPECIALIST
TRAUMA, SENSORY-ATTACHMENT SERVICE
Inter-DISCIPLINARY, SPECIALIST ASSESSMENT AND INTERVENTION FOR COMPLEX NEEDS
About this Service
EPT Clinic are proud to provide one of Ireland’s only inter-disciplinary, trauma, sensory, attachment, and mental health service.
Using a developmental and family-systemic framework, the EPT Clinic’s team offer comprehensive, evidence-based assessments which can be used in court and to inform intervention plans for care teams.
For intervention, we use a bottom up- top down intervention pathway. Bottom-up approaches focus on a child’s raw emotions and defence systems by working with clients to modulate their bodies. Meanwhile, top-down approaches look to shift the way a child thinks – whether it’s veering them away from unhelpful rumination or encouraging curiosity for their reactions. Cognitive – behavioural, sensory – regulation, sensory – attachment and dyadic therapeutic strategies are employed as appropriate. A child-led and child focused plan is put in place, and progress is reviewed regularly. Story life work, art and play are often part of the therapeutic experience for the child or young person.
